4 Steps to Reduce Holiday Stress

Are you overwhelmed this holiday season? Here are 4 simple steps to help you feel more in control and reduce your stress!

Step 1) Breathe!

We get so wrapped up in our stress. It can become life changing. When you feel like you are drowning, take a step back and take a deep breath and let it out slowly.. Deep abdominal breathing is proven to relax the body and the mind when we are stressed.

Step 2) Make sure you're getting good sleep

This is so important yet often overlooked! Stress can keep us up at night, creating for a very unproductive and exhausting day that follows. Take care of yourself and relax before getting in bed at night! Put the phone down, listen to some music and practice your deep breathing.

Step 3) Ask for help

If you are feeling bogged down by all of the tasks before you, ask for some help! This is hard for many of us to do, I know! Once your to-do list dwindles after receiving help from a loved one, you will feel relieved and thankful.

4) Practice Gratitude

It’s easy to overlook all of the incredible blessing we have in our life. We can be quick to jump right to the negative and the stress inducing. Take a moment to look around and be truly present. Feel every second and soak in each moment. This will help to ground you when you are feeling lost!
